Kubb UK 2010 is being held on Saturday, July 10th at the New Inn, Farmborough.
It will start at 14:00 and continue to around 17:30, during which time you will play at least 3 games.
Prizes may not be extravagant, but the prestige of winning the UK's largest tournament is obviously huge.
All welcome, no need to register, just turn up before the start.
Format of the tournament
As per previous years, your team (of between 2 and 6 players) will play another team picked at random for the first match.
If you win your first match, you will then play another team that won their first match. Similarly if you lose your first match, you will play another team that lost their first match.
In your third match, you will play another team who has won the same number of games as you.
In this way, teams always play opponents of roughly the same ability.
After 3 matches, teams will have won either three, two, one or none of their matches.
Those that have won all three games will play for the coveted Kubb UK 2010 Cup.
And, in a change to recent years, teams that have won two games will compete for the marginally less coveted, though still highly desirable, Kubb UK 2010 Plate.
